Flanvention / Backup Bash Update

For those of you who are just tuning in, Booster Events, the group that runs the Big Damn Flanvention con, has been jerking their customers around for the past week, alternately announcing that the convention is and is not cancelled. Well, it's finally official. Flanvention is cancelled. Just 24 hours before the convention was slated to begin, the entire Booster Events website disappeared and was replaced with this singe announcement:

"Booster Entertainment apologizes for the great inconvenience, but due to unforeseen circumstances, Flanvention is cancelled. An official notice will be posted within 10 days."

This is, of course, a huge imposition for all of us who spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars on our tickets, photos ops, special events, accommodations and airfare. Not to mention the fact that such a last-minute cancellation leaves no time to get refunds on travel expenses, and many people are already on planes from out of state and overseas.

However, browncoats are extremely resourceful. The California Browncoats are in the process of organizing a Browncoats Backup Bash, so that those who are unable to cancel their travel arrangements will still have something fun to do when they arrive at the Burbank Hilton.
